Developer: Loquendo S.p.A.
First release : 13 Jun 2009
App size: 6.77 Mb
Make your iPhone Hands-Free or Push-To-Talk (*)! Make a call just by using your voice!
Whether you have hundreds of contacts or only a few, just say the name you want to call - Dillo! finds it in your phonebook and makes the call for you. You can also make a call by simply saying the number.
Dillo! is based on Loquendo Speech Recognition technology and is speaker-independent – there’s no need to train the technology to your voice.
This is what Dillo! can do for you:
* Hands-free calling
Whether on the street, at the wheel or in the office, it’s so easy to find a contact in your iPhone and make a call - simply say their name! Just say “Call Kate.” Dillo! finds the contact and makes the call for you.
You can also specify where to reach the person (“home”, “cell phone”) just by saying, for example, “Call Kate on cell phone.” If there’s more than one number stored, Dillo! shows you the numbers listed, then lets you choose.
If a work contact’s name has slipped your mind, just say their company’s name and Dillo! displays all contacts associated with that company (if you’ve entered the company name in your contact’s details). Then call the contact you want - simply by saying their name.
* Voice Dial a number
To call a number not in your phone book, just say “Numbers” and, when the keypad appears, say the number you want to call; for example, “Numbers” and then “555 550 0117". You can say the number digit by digit.
You can also interact by touch screen as well as by voice.
FEATURES:
- no privacy issues: your contacts’ data remains on your iPhone and is not sent over the network
- you can say the number you want to call
- you can scroll through your iPhone contacts by swiping the screen
- you can see your contacts’ photos
- (*) WHAT IF I INSTALL iPHONE SOFTWARE VERSION 3.0?
If you install version 3.0 of the iPhone software, Dillo! will work, however we have found the following operating differences w.r.t. the previous version (2.2.1):
- Once youve selected the contact to call, a dialog box pops up on the touch screen, asking your explicit confirmation for the iPhone to dial the number. Apple added this confirmation step to any auto dialing app in the 3.0 OS update as a security enhancement. Please note that Loquendo has no control over this function, as this confirmation step is hard coded by Apple now. Please contact Apple with any concerns about this OS change.
